Southern Goodness Must Have!

There is a new Farmer's Market at Forest Hills United Methodist Church that started last Saturday and will continue through August or September.  It is small but growing every week and we enjoyed grabbing some great tomatoes, plums and peaches yesterday.  The cucumbers and peppers have been coming on in our garden but our tomatoes are not yet ready.  So, with our cucumbers, their tomatoes, and a great sweet onion from Kroger, I made this fantastic summer salad that I've always loved and wanted to share it with you.  If you love fresh veggies, the recipe says to throw in bell pepper too but I can't stand bell pepper so it is not in my mix.
Cat's KYUKE Salad
2 cups sugar (*gasp*)
1 cup white vinegar
1T mustard seed
tons o' cucumbers
tons o' tomatoes
tons o' sweet onion
and bell pepper if you like

Bring the sugar, vinegar and mustard seed to a boil.
Cut up your veggies.  Pour the mix over the top.
Let your Summer be splendid!!
