No better time than the present...

Cole's baseball team, the Yankees, won the 8U Minors regular season with a record of 12 wins & only 3 losses. The tournament starts tonight at 5:30 with a game against the White Sox who finished the season 3W/11L in last place. Of course, at this age, they are rather unpredictable so the White Sox could come in with a good game and knock the Yankees out in game 1. I'll let you know what happens.  Here's a pic of Cole getting the game ball at last week's game. Coach Yawn calls him the team leader because, as second baseman, he is the loudest man on the field, pumping everyone up and telling them what to do for the next play. It is amazing how far these boys have come since last year. It's like watching a real ball team rather than watching some boys kick dirt around and stare into space in the outfield. So much fun!

Cooper (4) loves going to the ballgames - primarily for the snowcones and to play with his new buddy, Isaiah Oakley, the younger brother of Yankee pitcher/1st baseman Caleb. Cooper and Isaiah usually drag Jason to the snack bar a few seconds into inning 1. Coop feels like part of the team and heads to the team meeting on the bleachers after each game with full expectation that he will be receiving the team snack and drink. He is great at paying attention to the coach's announcements and chomps away on his snack like he's one of the guys. Super cool.

Ivy
(16 months) generally sits in her stroller and watches through the fence with us. As long as I have snacks, she's relatively happy. She's been a tough cookie this year because many of Cole's games have been at 7pm which is her normal bed time. She's finally old enough to recognize Cole on the field and, with so many other kids around to watch, she seems to stay entertained.

I've started sewing dresses and skirts for Ivy and will try to post the fruits of my labor as they progress. My favorite item so far is this cherry pink and red dress. I love the bright colors and the material is so light weight that it'll be perfect for the summer.

Our house is on the market and we are constantly trying to keep it "showable" with three kids running around. It is a challenge, to say the least, since every meal leaves most of the food under the table rather than in their bellies. So, with a continuous flow of laundry, mowing, vacuuming, sweeping, etc...we aim to stay within 2 hours of walking out the door for a showing. Lord, help us!

I'm excited to be home with the kids this summer. We'll likely spend a ton of time at the Maryland Farms YMCA. I'm counting my blessings every day and thankful on so many levels!
