Garden giving!

Yesterday morning was our biggest harvest yet and the kids planned to prepare for their veggie stand by beginning the "picking" at 7am.  In order to avoid "veggie stand burnout," we decided to open the stand for only 2 hours (9a-11a).  While the kids did the hunt and gather, I headed off to Krispy Kreme for their "breakfast."

Hard work pays off!

Pickling cucumbers
The corn came from Rutherford County - Peaches 'n Cream!  Yum Yum!

Our sweet neighbors Dot and Nina got first pick!

They were so excited to hear how the boys had tilled, planted and picked the vegetables!

"Giddy" loves homegrown tomatoes!
Free veggies for our mailwoman!

Amazing friend, Monya, came from Mt. Juliet with her twins and niece!  Thanks, Monya!

More neighbors, the Shepherds, stopped by.

Balancing out the "healthy" with some donuts for our customers!

The kids had a great time and we all enjoyed meeting more of our new neighbors!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by!

  1. It was SO great to meet you and your sweet family on Saturday! I told Bert if we lived in the same town we would totally hang out together - you are my kinda gal. And don't you just love how kids are instant friends? The kids totally had a ball. Thanks for your hospitality.

I love what you are doing with the veggie stand and it was really neat to take home veggies grown by our new friends. And on the drive home I got to talk to my kids about what you are doing and why.

I also enjoyed talking with your husband about his job and some of the experiences he has had. Neat, neat neat.

Totally looking forward to keeping in touch with you!

  2. You are one spontaneous kinda gal! I love so much that you came to visit and it was exceptional to meet you and your beautiful family! I am thrilled and proud to call you my friend and hope to keep in touch with you!

Thanks for all the joy you spread to others with your uplifting words and stories on TheMommyhood.com. There never seems to be enough focus on the positives these days and you are certainly a big exception to that. Thanks for your encouragement and excitement that you showed us. That, my friend, is what makes the world go 'round!

    LOVE!
