Father's Day 2010

We went to Lawrenceburg, TN yesterday to spend Father's Day with Jason's Grandfather Paw Paw and the rest of the family.  Paw Paw was thrilled and we enjoyed a special day at church with them.  The preacher who married us is the minister at their church and it was great to see him and listen to his jab at Paw Paw that it takes his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to come to church in order for him to sit near the front row.  He was beaming with pride!

After the endless supply of suckers and gummies during the service, the kids were thrilled to head to lunch at the David Crockett State Park Restaurant.  Dee Dee bought Cooper a neat snake snap bracelet that he is still snapping around his wrist 24 hours later.  We had a great lunch with them and then spent the afternoon at Granny and Paw Paw's where Cooper helped bag some of their pick-ready veggies from the garden.  Apparently, the suffocating heat made him decide that it was a good idea to try some banana peppers which he willingly ate straight off the plant.

Ivy started walking this week and she made several attempts at crossing the room during our visit.  She is 17 months old now so I'm glad she finally decided to walk rather than drag her outfits across the floor.  This has been a problem because most of the things I have for her are dresses and she crawls right up into them and gets caught.  She'll be much happier now that she has figured out how to get around in an alternative fashion.

Fun with Grandma Dee Dee!

Today is Cole's birthday and he is finally NINE!  The Slip-N-Slide from Aunt Beanie was a huge hit this afternoon.  Here are some pics of them enjoying the ride!
